Sunday School Team
Please describe the service your ministry team provides.
What does a typical volunteer commitment look like?
What's a current or ongoing need within your ministry?
What do you find personally rewarding about serving within your ministry?
What's the next step for someone interested in helping with your ministry?
- Sunday school provides a place for children 5 years-5th grade to learn more about being a Christ follower. Sunday school is provided at our 11am service. Children may attend worship with their family, or sit with Sunday school teacher in front row. Children are dismissed to the Sunday school class after opening worship time ends. They will follow the teacher to the Sunday school building next door. Our classroom time is about 45 min-1 hour in length. Our curriculum teaches about the life of Jesus or about principle of Christian religion. We provide a small snack for children (granola bar), lessons may include songs, short videos, bible reading.
What does a typical volunteer commitment look like?
- Once every 6 weeks, lead or assist lead teacher with 5-8 children, ages 5-11, curriculum is all planned and provided, with very little prep/materials needed from our volunteers. Sunday school is provided for second service only. Worship with kids at start of service before heading to classroom, Classroom time is only about 45min.
What's a current or ongoing need within your ministry?
- We could always use more volunteers. The more we have the less of a commitment it is for the group.
What do you find personally rewarding about serving within your ministry?
- It’s rewarding to see the children in our program learn more about being Christ followers, as well as to see the volunteers grow in love and confidence as they spend time with our Sunday school class
